We like the new form. Just a quick suggestion, if it's not too much work? Is it possible to make thread with unread messages highlighted or bold and threads we haven't seen not bolded or highlighted? Currently we try to look at date of the last post.

It took me awhile to achieve this action --

At the bottom of each subject page there is a "button" to "mark topics read" that will mark convert all post to black text and the unread posts will remain in orange text.
