We Can Do Better Than LPIN

#1

Post by rachelvarga »

LPIN is such a boring acronym. I get tired of typing it.  We need something new. Something clever and cool. Something that represents us all better. Whoever comes up with gets a free........... twinkie.

Better Living Through Prostitution — BLTP

Sorta like BLTA, but substitute paid sex for avocado.

In any case, I think there’s room for something that reflects a Positive Outlook on Prostitution. Hey, there you go—POP—and the mascot/icon/logo could then be a weasel. All good until some jackass starts capitalizing the O in “on” anyway, then the whole thing goes to shit  :(

Another dud came up when I thought about something taking a stand against bad-mouthing prostitution and that was People Against Prostitution Smears, and, well, nevermind.

Legal American Coutesans

LAC

In all seriousness I think “Legal” has to be included somewhere because that’s the main difference imo

Just a question if anyone knows. Do you have to be a legal US citizen to Work in Nevada’s brothels or at least here with a green card?

Just a curious thought after I reread my LAC suggestion

As far as the CWMC website goes, it was managed for years by a terrific Gentleman who would probably still be there were it not for His health issues. The COY program and the site itself were inseparable. The subtle annihilation of it's great purpose (COY Program) is something akin to buying a good used car, putting a new paint job on it, then parking it in the yard, putting it up on blocks , and taking all the tires off of it. What a waste.

So, as the CWMC boat sinks (or at least capsizes) and is left behind for a few "Users" "Pennypinchers" and "Fear-trapped", Yes We must look to the future in several ways including naming.

CWMC is now lpinawards.com and there will be Courtesan of the Year so nothing has changed except the name and made clear they are not part of one forum. Here or there.

I helped the awards guys get the site going, by helping them get their own webhosting and everything then getting the site software running and I suggested lpinawards.com to one of them who talked with the others. I bring this up because I am sick of being called a liar on this. How could anyone know what the conversation was?

I had goals to achieve if I won COY and two of there were to build this site and to somehow try to talk the guys into changing the name. It was just perfect timing when the cwmc site was shut down because then they needed a domain so I gave my idea to one and it was talked about among them. That is not a lie. Like I said how would anyone know the conversation if they weren't there? Ridiculous false charge and Firefighter can confirm it's the truth. Okay I have said that and I am done with it.

Anyways there will be awards and everything will continue. The registration is really high because they made it clear they are neutral and got brothel owners to see that. I really have no idea who could win this year. It could be a girl from any brothel.

I was kind of joking about an acronym change but it's good to see you guys really giving it some thought!

It is interesting how many false assumptions can float around.

The CWMC label had been around for over 20 years, long enough that most had forgotten what the acronym actually meant.  Also, what portion of the acronym became objectionable to some was actually referring to men, not women.  I surveyed several women on the acronym/term and it was a mix whether the term was okay or objectionable.  I still find differences of opinions from ladies as to what term they wish to use to call the profession.

The CWMC Committee was initially hesitant to change the name because of the 20 year history of the awards and that most folks knew nothing of the original expression.  However, Q started to develop his plan for his "Q Awards", which meant he had to "trash CWMC Awards".  Turning off the CWMC web site was one of his tricks.

It was obvious Q wanted nothing to do with the CWMC Committee, so the CWMC Committee had to develop a new plan.  A new identity, a new web site, a new way of verifying voters and a new way of advertising the awards were all required.

The identity of "LPIN Committee" and "LPIN Awards" does better reflect current views on certain terms.  Plus, there is the added benefit of using legal terms and emphasizing the "legal" aspect as opposed to the "indie" (meaning illegal) aspect.  The new web site received helpful assistance from long time member IB, and COY winner Rachel.  (No offense IB, but I would rather talk code with Rachel.)

The LPIN (CWMC) Committee was always separate from the SIN forum, but we used the SIN membership as a means of verifying voters.  That created the misunderstanding of them being one and the same.

The LPIN Committee will advertise the awards on all the web sites that we have available to us.  We already know any one attempting to mention anything about the LPIN Awards on SIN will result in that person being banned from SIN.  However, there are other web sites that are anxious to be a part of the LPIN Awards and have their girls participate.

On a side note, it was my impression Q had a preference for ladies at certain houses.  However, Q has stabbed in the back those girls because because the girls can't use SIN to tell their clients about the LPIN Awards and their house and COY awards and promote themselves.  In the future those girls likely will take advantage of the benefit of BrothelLife.com for their clients and themselves.

Branding is something that takes time and effort.  I figure that it will take a year to completely settle in to "LPIN Awards".  Changing to something else would again take time and effort.
