Do you think ( guys and/or gals ) attitude on here reflects  their attitude in life or at a brothel ?

I think it depends on the person. Alot of people act different online than in person. Just browse reddit for 30 seconds.

I think it might be different here though. People here have met each other face to face. Hard to hide under a guise of anonymity.

I have heard people say they are the same online as they are offline. It's not true because communicating through writing as opposed to vocally are different. Textually a person can be seen different ways because it's hard to put emotion into a sentence with vocal cues.

I'm more open here because I am not at work. Nobody is especially here because of the content.

Is that what we are talking about? Did I misunderstand?

I think most people are a bit more open online. I'm actually the exception - I'm worse in person!  ;D

People are a little more open behind the monitor. Myself included and I am one of the ladies  :P
The more you talk to someone, the persons character comes out and makes it a little easier to know if you will click when you meet. Sometimes a bad day can impact someones mood when they are normally really nice. Hopefully everyone you meet is a sweetheart!

In some places like Twitter people are vicious because there are no consequences for their action. Non stop spewing hate to everyone in real life you meet will eventually get you a beating.

Social media disrupts the social contract which in a very basic term means you are born into a society and the contract is automatic. The rules are extremely complicated but it can be put like this.

Act within certain boundaries or be removed from the society. You cannot be exiled so either you are shunned or you are removed by going to prison.

Social Media allows you to violate the contract without consequences mostly through anonymity. If everything you said was tied to the real you, it would be very different online and eventually this will happen.

Your insights on different subjects continue to surprise me Rachel. I must have hung around the wrong people when I was younger.

These are the reasons why I don't participate in social media, reddit, or forums generally.

I got to see the "internet of things" start from it's infancy and evolve into what it is today. Was once heavily involved in these thing. Most people, unintentionally, expose who they really are online. A mask of supposed anonymity makes people think they can spew forth all their hate and bias without disrupting that social contract.

When I see crap like that, I think to myself, why would I ever want to physically meet that person.

Twitter, Facebook, and others. Are they a threat to liberty?

A number of people have complained their content has been deleted or shadow banned or even had their accounts deleted.

Plus, search engines like Google bury select web sites.

There were a lot of reports of online bullying. If anything, cowards will hide behind their monitors.

If you say something like you want to kick their ass they will call you a keyboard warrior. I just tell them they are a pussy because they're scared of a girl.

I have used keyboard warrior against a guy saying dumb shit. I'm a girl, I can get away with it. Lol.

Only speaking for myself, yes, I try to be the same attitude-wise to everyone and go out of my way to be nice  :) Whether it would be talking to Jesus Christ or a Homeless man on the street, I'll try to be consistent. However, I've a patch on my favorite coat that says, "Don't Mistake My Kindness for Weakness."  ;)

I, for one, am pretty different online than I am in person. Believe it or not, I am somehow *more* quiet in real life.
