What has surprised me most about the the business closures over the supposive pandemic is how LITTLE clout the Nevada brothels actually have. By the end of this month, it will have been 3 1/2 months the houses have been closed. Meanwhile, gyms and even massage parlors have been given the green light to open their doors again. The lack of influence in Carson has become obvious.

You can bet that Dennis would not be standing still with these closures. He would have been trolling the Governor, hitting the press, social media and been applying pressure till he got Moundhouse reopened. Lance is a commissioner, Chuck Muth is in charge of this brothel association, yet you here nothing and nothing changes. The houses divided as they are don't even seem to be putting up a fight, kind of a real eye opener to see where this industry stands.

Keeping a low profile served them well in the first couple of months. The last thing the brothels needed was the ever-present "do you want people to DIE?" spotlight on them, especially since they already have their detractors.

However, with most business (and especially the casinos) being allowed to open in limited capacities, it might be time for SOME noise. I can't help but feel like they're being targeted. Interesting that brothels have been forced to keep their doors shut along with strip clubs and nightclubs. I have hopes for Phase 3, but I can't help but feel like they're not on the governor's radar to even consider. No news or insight has been provided aside from the few snippets we manage to dig up. A representative of Nevada's Local Empowerment Advisory Council (LEAP) stated that he hasn't been able to "move the needle," whatever that means. They provide their measures and the governor's office just throws them back...

If you can open a casino, you can open a strip club. If you can open a day spa, bar, and massage parlor, you can open a brothel... up until 2 weeks ago, I understood why they couldn't allow things like nightclubs to open, but now... with the governor winking at and even supporting mass protests in the streets of his oh-so-vulnerable cities, I have to wonder.

Bella Cummins, owner of Bella's Hacienda, said that she feels brothels are being discriminated against and that it may be prudent to consider legal action...

Agreed ?. I think it was good that the bordellos were quiet in the very beginning as it would have looked bad. Now, it's time to make some noise. I just hope it's the right people making noise for the industry, and not that million dollar bunny hollering about.

You know, I often wonder how LPIN would have been effected had Hof lived long enough to serve as a Nevada Congressman, of which he was elected posthumously...

I guarantee he would be on TV / radio morning shows, etc... pointing out the hypocrisy of what is going on.  He would also be shouting about how brothels and ladies were left out of government assistance at times.
