Hard to be a blood donor these days

I donate blood every 2 months. Usually no problem getting an appt. I pick the next day, pick a time boom done!
Not anymore since now they are screening for covid antibodies in your blood I had to make my appt 1 1/2 weeks out! It’s great they are getting so many donors, wonder how many will repeat after getting results? It’s kinda like the gym after news years, everyone shows up for a few weeks then things get back to normal!

I’m type A blood. Not to in demand. I don’t donate. I pass out if you take to much blood from me.

What was funny is I kept getting all these notifications that they needed my blood & to make an appt then when I went to do it the appt was almost 2 weeks out.

Has donating blood changed? For as long as I can remember, the questionnaire includes if you have had sex with someone for money in the last year, I  think they say prostitute on form. At any rate, it disqualifies patrons from donating blood.

Are you being truthful on form? A quick Google check tonight says this is still the case and reason for disqualification.

Thanks for reminding me about this question I had forgotten about it since it has been so long since donating (pre-ranch days). Have cancelled the appointment.
