Any projects or hobbies you are working in?

I have had tons of stuff ready for house projects but never had time so let's see, replacing lights with can lights, adding lights, fixing fence and gate, finishing shutters, more organizing. Puling every single box out of attic and storage to get rid of stuff. I really want to start sanding my Ms. Pac-Man. I actually like all doing this. Oh and adding shelves for books.

So what are you up to?

I seem to remember you mentioning that you have deer hunted in the past......there is plenty of season left for you to make a road and let me guide you to your own deer. Just need to bring warm clothes and a couple of coolers for your meat. Well, and I guess nowadays..... a mask.

That would be cool but this year I'm going out as least as possible. Too many things to do. I do like hunting though. Something about the silence.

We've lived in our 4th home 17 years now so it's time for repairs.

We have two garage doors and I already replaced one opener but now I have to replace the other one.
A battery backup is now required in California but I don't want to install that type.

We have 3 full bathrooms, a powder room and a laundry room and there are 7 exhaust fans to replace because the original contractor installed cheap ones.

I have a Remington 700 Titanium 308 rifle but I never mounted a scope.  I bought a Leupold 4.5x14x40 scope, base and rings several years ago but I must take time to finish the project.

Our home's fascia board, wrought iron gates & security doors need to be painted too but I hate to paint.  I'm 73 years old and I probably shouldn't be climbing ladders anymore.

The fence is next so I'll replace it with redwood I guess.  I should pop for the bucks and have a concrete block wall built instead.

Good luck with the Leupold.  I had hell with them....I know they are "supposed" to be the best.  I had 3 of them and moved to Nikon.

I'm going to need a fence. I will look into an iron fence because there are no houses behind me that can see mine and I can put spikes on top but the rest will be wood. What kind of wood will last a really long time?

Okay cool. Thanks. I have the standard builder's fence and it's garbage. Behind my house is a tributary. It's all Army core (is that correct to say?). About 50 feet clear, the old barbwire fence from when it was catlle or farmland then a shallow tributary. A few people have wrought iron fences and I want to see the woods. Probably cost an arm, leg, and a lot of blow jobs to pay for. Lol. I'm not rich just so you guys know. I have to work hard. Like hard. (stupid pun)

I don't blame you for wanting to stay home, strange times now. I agree with your "something about the silence" part of hunting. I rolled into and set up my out of state deer camp today. Sitting by the camp fire this evening with no one around for miles and its a dead calm night. The boys will roll in tomorrow and change that.

I also decided that this will be the last trip for my camper. I think I will be tearing it apart and making a winter project of building one.  Either one that slides into a pickup bed or a cargo trailer build. I like the idea of a truck camper because it would alow be to pull my boat. Decisions Decisions!

What size trailer did you go with? Anything you'd do different?

It is a 26 ft. 102 wide.  I like it as is.

Cedar and at least 8ft. high.  Don't forget the rot board at the bottom.....very important

Yes, Redfield and Bausch & Lomb scopes are OK too.  I've had good luck with Leupold scopes though.  I have had trouble with the cheaper Weaver, Bushnell, Tasco & Simmons scopes though.  I had a Simmons scope on my RWS spring gun (1000fps barrel cocking .177 pellet rifle) and the double recoil knocked out the reticle.  The Tasco scopes weren't too bad but at higher power there wasn't enough eye relief.

I had sold Shepherd and Swarovski scopes when I was a FFL, but the price of those scopes was obscene!

I have another project now.  California made the AR-15 more restrictive so my Windham Weaponry MPC model R16M4A4T 5.56x45mm is no longer compliant.  The rifle must now have a fixed stock, fixed magazine, and no flash suppressor to be California compliant.  It would cost too much to modify it especially considering California could change the law again, so I plan to sell it on Gun Broker https://www.gunbroker.com/.  I may list it for $1200 since it's new & unfired in the original hard case and shipping carton.  I really don't need it anymore because I bought a Springfield M1A .308 on black Friday.

I like Vortex scopes.  They have the same warranty of Leopold if not better and are moderately priced.
