So what happened? The State that wants to poke its nose in everyone else's business can't handle their States' problems.

California is not the only place with an electric shortage.
BTW: It's suppose to be 108 where I live today.

That's a huge problem---- that is running out of water. Especially in states that depend on The Colorado river.

Now how could any of this happen with such great Socialist Democrat leadership?
They push the green deal, blow up dams, refuse to build new water storage, shut down power plants, and refuse to build new power plants or maintain the electrical grid. So it looks like they achieved their goals of causing a man mad crisis. And still having super high taxes and not spending any of it on power or water.

Just shows how ........ well I better be nice!

I know other none Democrat-run states have some of the same issues. But caused by different issues. And that is no one wants to spend the money on infrastructure or pay more for power or water.

Hey, Texas' power issues are coming from replacing Coal with Wind, while having huge natural gas assets across the state.

California's problems are more grid based. Transmission lines causing wildfires. So they shut down parts of the grid when wind and dry conditions show high risk of potential fire. Quite different than Governor Grey Out Davis's rolling blackouts 20 years ago.

Water OTOH, is a battle between population and agriculture.

But investment in energy and the grid is critical if we are serious about moving into electric vehicles.

Funny that this COVID investment can only be spent on water and data transmission. Uses like Energy and Transportation were excluded.

My brother and his wife went shopping for a new couch to furnish the new house. Salesman said the one the wanted won't be available until April 2022. Reason: the factory that makes the foam in Texas stopped production due to COVID, no power due to frozen turbines and lack of chemicals for the same reason . Driving around SE Nebraska looking.

I don't know a single person that has bought a generator or battery backup. People complain but do nothing to prepare. I'm getting one soon.

People buy toilet paper though. Gotta wipe that ass. I came to the conclusion many years ago that humans are not as intelligent as they think and have only advanced off the backs of a very very small portion of people that have brains.

Soon as they open up. No one wears a mask and all the antibacterial dispensers are empty, no cleaning carts, or anything.

I said nothing would change and it will all go back to the way it was and pretty much has. How can you feel pity for your own species when they are so dumb?

With the cost of a complete home back power system costing in the five figures, Rachel is why people don't do it.
Then if you want to be green, a Tesla Powerwall and soiler panels can be over 20k.
So yes, you can get a smaller generator for less, but your power will be limited.

BTW: I never once lost power in February. The hole rolling blackout is a joke because the local power companies really can't do a rolling blackout.

In the early 90's We had an ice storm in my hometown that took out so many power lines it was weeks before they were able to get the system fully back online. I was fortunate that my powerlines were underground, so I was lucky. But since then I've had a portable generator. Take it camping and fire it up a couple of times a year.

Its not much, but its enough to keep food from going bad and a light or 2 on.

And Wildfire, maybe they can't do rolling blackouts in Texas, but having lived through Grey Out Davis's blackouts in California, they were very effective, where parts of the city would lose power for an hour at a time. We had forced one hour breaks at work every other day.

Generators are nice but i think just having some common sense and being prepared would work better. Such little things as flash lights and batteries. Having drinkable water on hand. Know you could use a BBQ to cook on. Not letting your gas tank ever get to empty and then discovering during an emergency, you need gas. During the Texas deep freeze, I just saw many people waiting in line for water and someone to help them and I'm scratching my head and wondering if we've come to the point, we wait for some else to do everything for us? Didn't they know the snow on the ground is good for drinking? And how many people did not shut their water off at the main valve and turn on water in the bath tub to drain the pipes so they would not burst in their house? Or that cold beans or other food out of a can will not hurt you? Perhaps a sleeping bag or two?

The rolling blackouts are just fake news here in Texas. The individual power companies ( that sell and transmits power to the end-user) Really can't do rolling blackouts. They pick a circuit and turn it off. If you in an area with something they don't want to lose power, you are good. As I was in the winter storm in February.

The difference in California is there are only a couple of companies that supply to the end-user.

Here we have areas where multiple companies use the same power lines.

Unless you're in an electric co-op, then the co-op controls the power grid in their area.

And even then, the rolling blackouts are hard to accomplish.

Just look at Austin Energy, owned by the City of Austin (supper liberal city ). Their power grid is a total disaster, and their mayor and council blame power producers and the Governor for the power issues,
And at the same time, a city-owned power plant was offline. Socialism and the liberals at their best.

That's the socialist way. What good old Sidewinder voted for. And all the pets, dead and good socialists that voted multiple times.

Do I hate him? I would say no, but I'm afraid I have to disagree with most of his social and political beliefs and his wishes to force those beliefs on everyone else in the country.

Yes, it must be hard for you to accept the fact I don't march lock step with Tucker Carlson or Mike Lindell, The Pillow Man. :D

Of course, I don't march lockstep with Pelosi, feinstein or Bernie Sanders either.
