Last night the Kit Kat caught fire. No injuries but extensive damage to building. Fire under investigation but from what Ladies said it sounds like electrical as they reported hearing cracking.

I'm not surprised. Dennis didn't really care about safety. He probably paid the building inspector off or offered him a comp card with Suzie Q standing right there.

I got in contact quickly with one of the ladies there to check in on her and the situation. Some got a bit of stuff out, but others not. Sounds like the place is a pretty big mess in general and not a lot to salvage.
Sindy Sky has set up a fundraiser over at spotfund to help out. The business itself will have to deal with larger claims but the immediate or smaller stuff is a bit of pain so this seems like a good idea. *I have verified this is a legitimate fundraiser via confirmation by her house e-mail,* but you can always do the same if you feel necessary (sadly the world gives some reason to). Friendly challenge: knock me off the high donor pedestal. Go for it.

Suzette should be paying for everything. She can afford it & it is her building.
She will get the ins $ & coke out just fine. She needs to take care of her Ladies

That sentiment is probably somewhat well-founded, and yet my experiences would also tend to point to a lot of things always falling through the cracks in any more exceptional situation. I try to walk a bit of a middle path with these things and also for better or worse err a bit on the side of good will until someone(s) specifically shown me I should not. I'm still new enough around here that not many have had that chance yet (hell, only a fire brought me out of lurker mode on this site). To each their own of course.
