I love porn.
Sorry, I meant, I love food porn. I love food. I love talking about food. My favorite posts on message boards are those about food.

What’s the best KIND of food you can find in Reno? It seems the best kind of food in Elko is the Basque food, and in Vegas it’s the drinks LOL

In Reno, I’ve found damn good burgers and prime rib, and pretty decent Mexican food, but NOT good pizza.

Ideas?

Pizza: Skipolini’s South Virginia Street.

Try Grimaldi’s near Scheel’s. Pretty good pizza.

And HD since you asked, here’s a list of places to hit up.
Lili’s restaurant - Hawaiian theme, great breakfasts
Beefy’s and Archie’s for burgers

But the absolute must for me when I’m in the area is Sparks and Smoke. Real good brisket. They run out of food, so don’t get there too late.

I was literally there hours ago. Nice place.

Damn, the Korean place right close by though was freakin amazing. Arario Midtown. I thought Asian food would be pretty bad in Reno but that place was amazing. Expensive too.

Since you mentioned Asian food, if you like Thai, check out Thai Lotus.  Not only do they have good food there, if you go during lunch on weekdays, they have pretty good value.

Pizza in Reno?

My favorite place to eat pizza and drink beer in Reno is JJ's Pie Co.  on Ralston St. Excellent pie, the crust is spectacular. The place is like walking back in time with their 70's and 80's posters plastering the ceiling.

Noble Pie has great thin crust NYC pizza! Love the sausage pizza. I just don't enjoy the overpriced craft beer prices. Last time there it cost me $50 for a medium two topping pie and a pitcher of nasty tasting local Belgium wheat ale.

If you like pizza AND wings, Pizza Plus (multiple locations) is hard to beat.

I found Longboards a huge disappointment. You can't just order a pepperoni and sausage. Make you go through a line picking out sauces and toppings much like a sub shop. In the end, pizza was just average, much like something you'd taste in a grocery store $10 pre made oven.

I haven't been to the Skipolini’s in Reno, but was at the one in Concord with my son last week, and the pizza and beer were both great. They had a luncheon special, slice of pizza, caesar salad, and chocolate chip cookie $9.95. Excellent deal, the two of us 2 beers, tip and all $40. (I took the cookie home as it does work, for me with beer.)
