I think we've all turned into our parents. ;D ;D  I remember back in the days when my parents use to hate a lot of the music from my generation ('60s & '70s) and as they grew older, there was less and less modern music that they actually liked.

Personally, I still listen to the '60s & '70s channels on Sirius/XM, as well as the classic rock and country channels more than stuff from todays top 40s list or even from a decade ago.  I think I hate rap/hiphop as much as my folks hated rock, heavy metal, and The Beatles ...LOL  There are a few newer artists that I like (and I have to admit that I like Lady Gaga ...LOL), but todays music is nothing like the "old days".  8)

? You listen to music Chuck? I thought all you did was go bird watching with bird dog and then in your spare time hang out at MR eating donuts with Miss Tori.??

Seriously though I think Doc Who has it right we all have gotten old so we ain't down with what would be considered pop.music today.
Although my mother is a little weird she actually likes a lot of what would be considered today's pop.even though it drives me bonkers.

Also what is pop I guess also depends on where you live not only in this country but In the world.

These songs off my buddies latest album. From June of this year Over here in this country its considered his version of blues.

But at one point after its released it Reached number 6 on the country charts in Australia.

My point maybe somewhere in the world they are still putting out music you can at least hang with. If not you still got your bird watching and donuts at MR with Miss Tori too look forward to.???

Yep, Chopped Liver I am the old man around here.  ;D ;D

And yep the new music sucks.  Both my trucks have Sirius/XM also and Willie's Roadhouse station is "glued" in.

Seems I recall that's exactly what my folks used to say about the music of the 60's. The younger generations always finds music that the "old folks" love to hate.[/size]

My parents listened to old country music... Gentleman Jim Reeves, Eddy Arnold, Skeeter Davis. I kinda liked the old country tunes myself but then I'd go to my cousins house & listen to Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Marvin Gaye & Al Green. When the Beatles came about I, along with just about all kids my age, became enamored by them. I had all their LP albums & some 45s as well. My parents never complained about the nearly constant Beatles music coming from either my room & my sisters' room. They didn't seem to mind the Rollings Stones all that much either.

I guess I'm a little less tolerant than my parents. I think Rap is Crap with the "C" missing. The fastest thing in the world is me shutting off or changing channels when I hear Rap on the radio or TV.  : :)
