Ok, allow us get wordy and geeky at the same time.

We believe in the science behind sex and that unique chemical reactions occur during different stages of a relationship:
- Lust (testosterone & estrogen)
- Attraction (Dopamine)
- Attachment (serotonin)

So, part of the struggle for many in a long term relationship is that people crave the hormones of the LUST & ATTRACTION stages, no matter how happy you are in the relationship.

LPIN provides that opportunity for couples to experience this together.

So, for us - "success" isn't as much about the sexual experience with the courtesan (although we surely hope for an amazing adventure) or even in the price (we tend to just blurt out our budget and hope it's enough) but if we get "that feeling" together and those lust/attraction hormones occur for BOTH OF US AT THE SAME TIME after 20+ years of living in the attachment stage.

And for how long we continue to relive those feelings, by looking at each other during the PTA meeting, and seeing that little twinkle in your spouses eye and know what they are thinking of.

How do you measure success in this hobby?

As a client, how do you measure if you're being successful in this hobby/activity?

You take up bowling or golf, you can use your score as a measure of success as you go along. Take up woodworking, as you become more skilled, your projects become more elaborate. As you improve as a skier, more difficult, challanging terrain becomes normal.

So, how do we know in this hobby?

Interesting question. There's a human element so I don't think it's quantifiable like a sport or some other skilled activity.

You know that Hof quote from one of the pre-Cathouse HBO docs? Something like "He wants anal for $20, you want the bank account, the house, the 401k" and the point was meeting in the middle. I think you win the hobby when you master meeting in the middle. You leave freshly fucked and happy. She leaves having made her car payment in an hour or less.

Outside those parameters are the horror scenarios where she gets a client to call his CC company and raise his credit limit as high as it can possibly go and only then accepts the price (this is an actual story from the other board on a 'brothel nightmare' topic), or the client who knowingly manipulates a new girl who is naive and desperate, probably not a good fit for the business, who is obviously reluctant to accept a low-ball but feels she has to...that's very sleazy, too. Both are the brothel versions of bad sportsmanship.

I like your posts, sled.

Easy if I hand the girl money and I say sex please and we have it. Then it goes down as a win.?

Simply put, I think Ms Peanut & Ironman have it pegged.

I don’t look at is as sport or hobby. I don’t look at in terms of success or failure. Going to a Brothel & spending time with a Lady who excites me isn’t a game to be won or lost or to keep score on. It’s time I get to enjoy myself & hopefully the Lady enjoys as well

Good points Chucker.

I have went through many phases over the years.

I used it early on to advance sexually. No better teacher than an older sex worker.

For a long time, I used negotiations as a measure of success. "More for less" was my motto. How much activity could I get with the hot chick and pay far less than other guys. Takes skill and charm in negotiations.

I have one Monger friend who by all accounts is real successful in LPIN. How? He manages to date them in real life and get free sex. Free sex or highly discounted sex sure sounds like you're winning.

I hear a lot of guys say that being in LPIN has helped their confidence. That's progress, something you can measure. But, to truly say you have had the ultimate success, you need to leave LPIN and date women in real life, not stay in this hobby.

That's pretty much how I think of all of this too, especially since I only make it out to the houses a few times each year.  It's more a sex vacation for me, but perhaps if I were a local and making frequent visits, then my goals would be different.

I also think that many of us are in this hobby, lifestyle, or whatever you want to call it for different reasons, so everyones goals and what they feel leads to success can vary across the board.

Are you enjoying having sex with hot ladies? You’re successful!

If you like keeping score of your visits and parties, the structure of bowling could be a good way to do that. Strikes are good! Picking up a 7-10 split is epic! Gutter balls happen when you’re getting used to playing, and they can still happen to the pros from time to time. If your average is lower than last game, you still had more fun than if you just stayed home. :)

The answers of 'gain confidence' and 'a vacation' offered up by Sled and Chucker seem to be really decent and quite likely the best answers to the original question.

The 'Monger Friend', however, (imho) is cheating Himself. Since the goal of 'dating' (as I understand the function from such a long distance away) is to seek compatability, friendship, and if it goes there, love, why would the rare and special opportunity of dating a courtesan be wasted on sex? It would make more sense to have a party/sex meeting at the brothel at the regular fee prior to Her going 'off duty' and out on the town with such a lucky Gentleman. The focus then, could be on each other and not the distraction of sex. Naturally, of course, if the relationship progressed thru stages, the idea of sex as a part of being together would surface. Sex meetings/partys/vagina rental/LPIN - whatever You choose to call it, is readily available (fortunately!  ;D ) thruout the State. Using the opportunity to date a courtesan for 'cheap sex' would no doubt fail quickly, as those Ladies are very wise to men and their schemes.

Probably the 'gain confidence' answer is the one I'd go with.

I think that just like any hobby if you enjoy yourself, and you're not breaking the bank, it's a success.  I keep a little black book and use a "star system" to rate my parties.

This is a good topic to get my feet wet on in this forum. I started visiting legal Nevada bordellos in the early 2000's, took a long break (married, now divorced) and have recently started visiting the bordellos again. So much has changed from what I remember 15 years or so ago.

The girlfriend experience now seems to be all the rage. It's nice to have options as a purchaser but kind of weird when I've run in to ladies recently that scoff at shorter arrangements. Understandably most ladies want a high dollar arrangement but to frown at shorter time and money offers would certainly discourage those who aren't interested in the outdate, or 4 hour kind of experience. The last trip I took a lady tried to sell me a girlfriend experience for big money but didn't kiss. Now who here would classify a lady who did not kiss as a girlfriend experience? It was a money grab in my eyes so I just moved on to a lady who was not delusional. When I first started it seemed most ladies had more reasonable expectations and didn't shoot for the moon with bullshit advertising terms to extract more cash.

I don't mean to sound like I look at it as a sport completely with a scoreboard etc. I do keep notes on what arrangements I enjoyed the most, what I responded to favorably so forth and so on.

Maybe we all need to keep some stats. On top percentage (OTP), on bottom percentage (OBP)?  ;D

Everyone has their own yardstick for "success". For me "success" is the smile on my face when I think back to the parties I've had, and I look forward to the ones ahead.[/size]

Welcome to the board AC!  Sounds like you were around right after the pre-condom days.  I remember the days before the GFE.  Everything was performed to completion... nobody wanted to kiss!  ;D

I measure success on different levels. I cannot lie and say I don't measure it on money but I spend so much time there that I have to have other things to measure or I would just become a cold hard cash girl. I do measure it also on what clients say and when I hear how I changed someone's life, they are much happier, can deal with depression easier, or anything like that I do feel good inside.

I also measure it on how successfully I crush ChicagoBob in online fights. Right now I'm like MMA to his Tai Chi!
