I watched that Netflix series WACO and to be truthful I really didn't know much about it. To us it was some hostage thing (which is not exactly true) in America and that's about it. Michael Shannon is such a great actor. Afterwards I read Stalling For Time My Life as a FBI Hostage Negotiator and by Gary Noesnner and it is really fascinating this thing about Ruby Ridge and Waco, then of course Timothy McVeigh who is in Waco when the Davidian compound burned down bombed a federal building in Oklahoma. How they are all connected and how the ATF were are the first two then the FBI and it was split into two different like of thinking. Firepower and Negotiation.

What a mess. Negotiators were second to the tactial group. I like the book because he talks about the negotiations of major events he work on negotiation and what went wrong.

Some people would say America is crazy people but I don't think foreigners understand just how diverse it is and what freedom or religion means or doesn't mean to some government agencies. You can never be bored here. If you are then something is wrong with you.

I will read David Thibodeau book next. One of the few people to get out of the building as it burned.

This country is full of crazy Americans... Add religion in for some of them, racist ideals for others, access to unlimited weapons and you have a toxic mix just waiting for a spark.

I remember watching events unfold in Waco while I was stationed at Pearl Harbor. As we were preparing the ship for decommissioning I had moved off the ship and lived in the Chief's barracks, eating my meals in the mess hall. We had a large screen TV's in the dining area and I was able to watch the live news from Waco while eating my meals there. When the final assault started, a hush came over the galley like I had never seen before.  Dead silence.I don't have Netflix but my brother does.

There is a debate on who started the fire. They released the audio tapes from the mics they were able to get in and they are talking about spreading gas and adding hay here and there. Koresh is talking on the tape. They said something about wait until they come in.

They never talked about suicide. Were they doing it to harm law enforcement coming in. Either it was probably them that started. Wind gusts up to 20 mph. CD gas that can cause fires.

I haven't gotten to read Thibodaus's book.

I am about to start Failure Is Not An Option by Gene Kranz. The former flight director for NASA mission control. Behind the scenes Mercury program to Apollo and more. I like to read books by people that were there so this is going to be very interesting for me.

I can answer the question about who started the fire.  I had a friend who was there in the National Guard.  Koresh DID NOT  start the fire.  Look at a picture of the fire when it first started.  You will noticed it started UP WIND.  The 80+ little kids inside were murdered.  I can't go into detail .

Although they never spoke of suicide. The fact that that gas was used many times before in various standoffs and caused fires is definitely something to consider.

I mean fuck I don't know.

Very true.  A lot of Americans are too focused on putting others down because of their own insecurities instead of putting there egos to the side and focusing on their own happiness.
