Breakfast next week

We’ve decided to try something different for breakfast at the meeting next week. Those that have attended in the past will know that the Tamarack Junction did away with their outdoor seating last year and while eating inside in the DC Cafe (formerly the Dining Car) was fine we like to take advantage of the cool Reno mornings with some fresh air breakfast. So we’re going to change it up a little this year. For those few early arrivals we will still be at the DC Cafe at the Tamarack on Wednesday. I say we but I mean Sheri as Wednesday is my pinochle day. Thursday we will be at BJ’s Barbeque on Victorian Avenue in Sparks. Don’t let the name fool you, they have a great breakfast selection. We’ll still meet at 10AM but they have a good weekday lunch business so we may not be able to linger until 2PM as we have in the past. If all goes well we can return to BJs on Friday and then the few of us still around on Sunday can head back to the DC Cafe at the Tamarack. There is no official breakfast on Saturday but we will have continental breakfast (fruit, baked goods, coffee, tea, water, juice, etc.) available at the picnic on Saturday starting at 10AM.

Directions to BJ’s: if you are coming from Reno take East McCarran northbound until you pass under I-80 then take an immediate left at the light onto Victorian. You will pass a trailer park and BJ’s will be on your right just after that. If you’re coming from Sparks take East McCarran southbound then make a right on Victorian just before the I-80 on-ramp. If you’re coming from parts east take I-80 westbound and exit at McCarran Blvd. you can go straight across McCarran from this exit onto Victorian.

You may now make jokes about having the breakfast meetings at a place called BJs.
