While listening to some old, dusty rock the other day I started thinking about great guitar solos.  Here's as couple of my faves. Please add your own.
In no certain order:
Carlos Santana, Black Magic Women
Jimi Hendrix, The Wind Cried Mary
Gary Richrath, 157 Riverside Avenue (you have to be from Chicago, haha!)

REO Speedwagon! After a concert ( riding high during their "Wheels Are Turnin'" tour ), the band was getting into their limo. I yelled out "GA-REEE!" and gave him the thumbs-up. He gave me the "Dude!" nod, lol.

Hmmm, right off the bat, Eddie Van Halen's solo on "Jump," Jimmy Page on the live version of "Celebration Day" from The Song Remains The Same, Dave Davieson "All Day and All of the Night](or is it Jimmy Page? Ray Davies insists it's his brother:"Page was doing a session in the other studio, and he came in to hear Dave's solo, and he laughed and he snickered. And now he says that he played it! So I think he's an asshole, and he can put all the curses he wants on me because I know I'm right and he's wrong.")."[/size]

by Dr. Who
Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) - Sultans Of Swing
Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode
Eric Clapton (I like most of his soloing, so it's hard to pick just one favorite)

Ritchie Blackmore - Burn (Studio version), Smoke On The Water & Highway Star (Made in Japan)
Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover, hell the whole song's a solo

I forgot about BB King ...I met him in person when he was playing a gig at one of our local Blues bars here in Chicago, years ago.  A great performer and a nice guy.

Anything Jimi! He was in a stratosphere all his own  :)
Eddie Van Halen’s solo “Eruption”
David Gilmour’s solo towards the end of “Comfortably Numb”
Rudolf Schenker’s solo just after midway taking it to the end of “Lady Starlight”
Whenever I hear these, they just give me a hard-on  ;D
