If Moundhouse brothels close, how would that personally affect you?

As many of you know, it will be on the ballot this November. Let's say it passes, what does that mean to you? Does it affect you? I know some guys don't even bother going there, I've noticed some Moundhouse girls have moved already to the Mustang. Are the other houses prepared to even take on all those working girls?

I hope they don't close.

No matter if you hate or like Hof, if his Moundhouse brothels get closed, it's going to be a blow to LPIN in general.  Needless to say, I doubt that any of us brothel goers, as well as the ladies want to see this happen.

Although, it probably won't affect me as much as others who only visit Reno/Carson City area and don't venture out east or to southern NV.

I'm more interested in brothels elsewhere, but it would remove several options that I might have at least considered visiting.  And as Dr Who said, it would be a big blow to LPIN if the Moundhouse brothels closed. Basically, it would give those NoLittleGirl jerks optimism that they can eventually get all brothels closed down.

I don’t see it as having an immediate affect on me but perhaps in the future.

I would bet that the old Mustang building would be reopened with many of the Ladies coming from Moundhouse. I’d say because of this the current Mustang Ladies could see the biggest affect. Would some get squeezed out? What about prices would they escalate, lower or remain the same? There would be twice as many Ladies available closer to Reno but less total available in the Reno/CC area.

I hope for Brothel viability in the future that they remain open but will admit it will get interesting if they get shut down. Will Dennis try to get a Lic in Story co? Perhaps open a new house at E23? Wouldn’t that be strange, a Brothel in Mustang that isn’t “The Mustang”!

A lot of things to consider and watch

It would greatly reduce the number of brothels in the Reno/CC area, which are the closest for me. It would leave only the MR, but the righteous citizens brigade would probably celebrate their victory by trying to close it down next.

I was given the impression that the old Mustang building is under renovation and there are already plans in place to reopen it as a second house.

There would be nothing good that comes from it.  The Mustang can't handle all of the girls who might defect.  The Mustang has a special niche of not being so high priced as the Hof houses.  If they get closed, the door is left wide open at the Mustang for $2000/hour.

I view it as a ominous sign for LPIN as a whole.

Even though I only booked at a HoF owned house once if they are forced to close. It may only be a matter of time before they all are.

So I think in the long run every one that uses the brothels would eventually be affected. No matter which one you go to regularly.

If the brothels close in mound house LPIN will essentially be in hospice care eventually all the legal brothels in Nevada will probably close.

I don't know Ironman. This whole thing seems like it is targeted at Hof and his brothels. Guinasso seems to be the captain of this ship and lately it has its sights on Hof and all of his past. There is plenty out there that he's done that gives them fuel for this fight.

I ask myself but why now? For the last decade or more, Dennis has always done his PR stunts...no one trying to shut him down. Stories about him forever and no one from LE tries to close the doors. He ran for office two years ago, runs a dirty campaign full of mud and still nothing.

I think what started all this was his house burning down in the Little Valley Fire. He was calling out the Governor on Twitter...blaming him and asking for apologies. That might have finally pissed off the wrong people. Just my observation. Storey County is safe IMO as is Elko County. Can't imagine anyone carrying this any further than Hof brothel counties.

I hope they stay open, but if the Mound House brothels close Mustang isn't far. I like to relax and smoke, and when I drink alcohol I don't drive so my brothel visits would be different if I went to Mustang. I won't do mini-vacations like I do at Sagebrush for several days at a time. For me now, going to brothels is my social life with beautiful girls, and I used to do that for years in California from 1987 to 2009 going to different strip clubs. I have never set foot into a Reno strip club, not ever even during my earlier years of vacationing in Tahoe and Reno so if Mound House closes their brothels I might go back to doing my strip club hobby thing. Some people talked about Wild Orchid which I've passed by driving, so I know where that is. The Men's Club on Lake St. across the street from Harrah's is probably the first strip club I would check out, and stay at Harrah's for the night since I've been going to gamble at that Harrah's for some 10 years. Going to brothels can be cheaper than strip clubs, no cover and drinks cost less, and the party costs for me are reasonable right now, not sure if they would be at Mustang. For me it's not about the sex, I miss the female conversation and companionship of just talking with a pretty lady. It takes time, but I can eventually find a friend with benefits or find a "girl" friend that is willing to spend time with me outside of the club, I'm patient and have my methods, just going out to eat is usually the first step to talk and to get to know each other. The good thing about strip clubs and going out on a date with a stripper, no expensive brothel outdate prices and we can go out to eat, go shopping, and I've even taken a few on vacations to Las Vegas before back when I lived in soCal. I would never use an unknown indie, but some of the strippers did that too.

I hope for more brothels to choose from in Nevada, not less. More brothels can mean more competition, and since a lot of clients seem to be price conscious, more competition can lead to lower or more reasonable price options. Also, more brothels to choose from is good for the ladies, they can find the right fit for them and move around if they choose to. For some ladies, I think they like the option to work at different brothels, it's like working the same job at a different place and atmosphere, a change of pace.

We'll see what the voters in Lyon County will do, and how many actually go out and vote and not just stay home or do other things instead of vote on November 6. In 2014 less than half of the registered voters in Lyon County actually voted in November (47.48%).

If Republican voters vote along party lines as expected in November and Dennis Hof wins the State Assembly seat, maybe he will get out of the brothel business eventually, but I hope the brothels he has don't close but stay open with just a change in ownership. Oh well, I might not live long enough to see that happen.

You could be and very well may  be right about that buddy. I just can't help but think though if they succeed in shutting down all of the Hof owned ranches eventually the others may follow.

There is no doubt in my part of why it got this far is because of Hof's ego and need for attention.

But In my opinion successfully voting to ban brothels in any county regardless of the motivation behind the ballot measure or who owns the ranches that would be closed. I don't see it as a good sign for the long term future of LPIN as a whole.

I of course live in CA so have zero say in how it all turns out.

I would lose a lot. The Sagebrush, and everything I’ve accomplished by being a Sagebrush girl, is a big part of my livelihood.

Since I only get to the Reno/Carson area about once or twice a year on average, it probably wouldn't affect me that much, as far I can tell. There's always the Mustang to go to, but as someone else pointed there's always the chance that they may be the next target of these anti-brothel groups. Those groups need to be put down when the time comes to vote this November, so that they don't get any more bright ideas anytime soon.

Now if that Nye county one goes through that definitely would have an effect on my habits. I'm out in the Vegas area much more often than the Reno area since it's easier for me to get to from where I live. I would probably cut back on trips, since the friends I go out to see in Vegas have full busy lives and can't do things on a whim the way I can :-\ . I definitely won't be going out of my way to contribute to the economy of Nye county if they do pass this piece of garbage law that they're talking about. I'll make sure the only time I stop there is to piss on the ground on a really long road trip out there 8)

We will be making our first trip to Reno/CC in a month, so there would be no direct and immediate change to us - other than how it affects the wonderful ladies we've come to know and appreciate through the internet.

To us, this feels like a case of many different groups coming together for a common desired outcome, "an enemy of my enemy is a friend", with the religious nolittlegirl cult joining forces with the anti-Hof zealots.

While the anti-Hof group may ease off regardless of the outcome, the locomotive is rolling with the nolittlegirl sect and they'd surely continue to try and steamroll through the rest of Nevada if they win this vote.

So - in the long run, it could be devastating to what we consider one of our favorite adventures we take!

Personally? Why would this personally affect me?
Frankly I don’t think it would!

But I do think many of the ladies in Moundhouse would turn indie with their regulars to get some funds temporarily, at least for a little while, akin to unemployment. But seeing regulars can’t possibly last forever, and then they’d have to turn tail and run, either to a legal brothel or to some other place that skirts FOSTA/SESTA.

I don't go that much, but I would feel horrible for the ladies who would loose their livelihood.  I imagine it is a source of great anxiety to most of them right now.
