OMG!  :o  I was wondering what happened to Max.  I haven't heard from him in awhile.  The last time that I saw him was at the Dovetail about 2 yrs ago.  He was one of the good guys!  My sincere condolences to his family and friends!

A little about Max & I

He was my friend. Those who know me know I don’t use that term lightly. I have made many “Friendly Aquaintances” thru this hobbie and a few real friends. Those who are my Friends should know who they are and I care for them as much as or more than my family. Max was my friend

Max was pretty much a loner. He honestly didn’t like a lot of people. He and I bonded I think because we are both no BS types of guys. We met a few years ago and bonded quickly. Over the years we would get together a couple times a year and would stay in pretty steady contact via txting.

Max had turned 62 this year was in Pretty good shape and had his retirement planned out. He was going to travel the country with a trailer behind the new truck he bought just a couple months ago. He loved photography taking both great Landscspe pics and great pics of many of the Ladies both North and south. He planned to travel the country taking his landscape pics. He had a real talent for it and his hobby was becoming his post retirement career

I am devastated by this news.

Lesson learned: Live today and every day as your last because you can’t control when it’s your time to go.

Thank you for reading this...

He will be missed more than I can say

Man, this just kicked me in the gut. Six, I'm so sorry. I feel very fortunate that we were able to meet up a few times and do a couple lunches. Enjoyed his style, and will think about him when I see certain photography. This type of thing is tough, but when it's my time, that's how I want to go. Watching a loved one deteriorate right now, so I'm going to take some solace that in this part of life he didn't suffer.
RIP Brother Max

Oh no not Max Wood. We spoke up unti October. He was a very private man. Not only that he was a great photographer. His photography site is very creative and he had a great eye for landscaping photos. Again very good photographer and  quiet but cool dude. May he Rest In Peace with flyfisher. God bless.

XO Vanity

Max was really one of the good ones. He would travel to Southern Nevada each April and October, and we typically got together for dinner when he was here.  Once or twice we hit Southern Brothels together, but usually just dinner. Sometimes a few of us got together…and for that matter, once or twice up North too. But, April and October were his pattern.

Like Six said, Max was a bit of a loner and for whatever reason, we bonded too.

He was here in April and we sat at the Bonefish Grill, ate, drank, an spent about 4 hours talking politics (different ends of the spectrum, but always civil lol) and retirement. He had just officially retired on March 23, 2018. He had planned it for a long time, and carefully orchestrated the sale of his house and purchase of an RV to hit the road, take pictures, enjoy life, and occasionally hit a brothel. He loved taking pictures and always talked about Joshua Trees. I don’t know if it worked — I’m pretty techno impaired — but I tried to attach one of the pics he sent after his last trip.
I am sad that I won’t get to see him for dinner anymore – I really enjoyed those times.  But mostly I’m so sad that he planned so well for his retirement…had everything figured out…and will never get to do it.

XO Max
And for everyone else, carpe diem

We never met Max and we could not call him a "friend".  We wish we had an opportunity for both however as the man had responded to our very first board post and continued to share is experience with us to guide us through our last year and a half journey into LPIN.

Never long on words, but extremely expressive in offering his opinions he shared with us much of the history and feelings about people and places in this rather unique world we share.  Like many of the others here, he probably grew tired of how often we went to him with questions - but he was always gracious in helping us and answering our questions.  We don't know why he tolerated us, but our one wish is that we could have met him to express how grateful we were that he did.

For those of you who were closer to him, had the opportunity to meet him in person, and especially those that can truly call him "a friend" we are truly sorry for your loss.  Thank you Max, and RIP.

Real sad to hear about the passing of Maxwood. I saw his amazing pics from time to time. We traded a few messages, he always had good information. I never met him, but he seemed friendly in our messages.
Thanks for the background on him.

I passed on our condolences to his Fsamily when I spoke with his Sister today. She was very appreciative of it.

Today has been another rough day for me dealing with this.

R.I.P Maxwood. He was always a nice fellow and very responsive to people on the boards. He responded to me in a very positive way and very respectfully on my posts. I wish I could have known him better. It si always sad to hear of the passing of one of our regulars in this LPIN hobby.  To Sixty and others, I am very sorry for your personal loss.

This very sad news. I had met Max only briefly but I was well aware of the fact that he was one of the "good" guys. May he Rest In Peace and my deepest sympathies to his friends and family.

oh, that's right, he was a photographer...
and a DAMN good one from what I've seen when his work was posted and heard from tons of ladies in the biz. seems he was a complete gentleman as well.

his was a presence felt everywhere, and his is an absence which spans volumes.

and he was nothing if not straightforward in PMs and personal correspondence.
you're right, six. seize the day, and every damn single one.
