Bigger stigma?

What profession has a bigger stigma attached to it, porn actress or Legal Courtesan?

Why do you think?

I think LPIN carries a harsher stigma due to its association with street hooking and all the nastiness that comes with it. On the surface, undeservedly, it's thought of as a last resort for desperate women who have no other skills. Whereas there's still kind of a glitz associated with porn.

I've noticed a lot of porn stars, Jenna Jameson for example, become insulted at being compared to a courtesan. They insist that it's not taking money for sex (which is automatically assumed to be the worst thing someone could possibly do) because everyone is paid, you know in advance who you're fucking and what activities are taking place, everyone involved is tested for stds, and that it falls under the umbrella of the entertainment industry and is therefore more legitimate.

Without a doubt, I think being a working girl carries far more stigma.

Let's see, for the most part- Porn actresses can pick and choose the men they work with. Those men are usually fit, good looking guys with large members who are sexually experienced.

Lately, some LPIN ladies have tried to counter the stigma associated with their chosen profession. They will try to tell others just how "normal" their job is. How they get PAID to go on dates to Tahoe, fine dining and the sort. Always saying how they opened their friends & colleagues eyes, maybe even making them a bit envious. Always leaving out the part of how they let the inexperienced tongue of the client into their mouth and vagina, how the large, sweaty stranger mounted on top of her to have intercourse with her.

Don't hate the messenger.

100% it's working girls. People can tolerate porn because it's fantasy where as LPIN is the real deal.

I agree and it’s not right IMO.

As Rachel said being with a Courtesan is real and to me that is derserving of much more respect than fake orgasms and crazy positions just for the camera.
