I'm curious what others think about it. To me, there really is no value in openly discussing prices. For one, if a client actually did get a good deal/discount it likely would alienate the lady should they discuss that price publically.
Additionally, anything posted publically has to be taken with a grain of salt. I liken it to gambling how you always hear the story about how your friend hit it big one night, but they certainly never regale you with all the times they lost money. People openly talking about prices fall into the same type of category for me, so I'm skeptical to say the least.
I think mostly it just stirs distrust and resentment within the community.
Private discussions is something altogether different, though discretion and good judgment is still important imho.

Is "open" discussion of LPIN prices of value to anyone?

On the flip side of shaming a woman for being out of budget is shaming a client for being unable to pay. No one on this board does it but after the Lisa Ling brothel special aired a courtesan tweeted “$XXX wouldn’t even buy a conversation”, and it got a lot of likes. That’s not ok either. A lot of people (including me) work their ass off for $XXX and believe me it’s a physical and emotional toll to get shitty pay when you’re doing overtime and forgoing breaks just to make rent, feed the kid, etc. Just from observation it seems like among *some* ladies amounts under 1k are considered personal insults, and this is not necessarily the case. I think the thread on SIN this is coming from is obviously the pricing poll and another about a sizable party quote wherein the courtesan was described as “guffawing” at the initial offer given.
TL;DR we shouldn’t be dicks because everyone is going through shit

OK... Taking it another way. Are you asking "overall prices" or specific lady prices?
Personally I have never posted what I paid for a specific party. Too many variables. (From both my and the ladies perspective)
BUT.... Especially from the newbies perspective, I think there is a HUGE value in speaking in generalities.
Example: If a newbie wanders into Sheri's, he is going to get absolute sticker shock and may (probably) never set foot in ANY brothel again. Thats not good for the ladies in the industry, or management (overall) OR those of us who love the industry.

So, in this case, the lady is wanting a "quickie" (in terms of money) while ignoring the long term business investment of a repeat customer.FredT link wrote:Is "open" discussion of LPIN prices of value to anyone?

Valid concern but let me say “Sticker Shock” to you or I may not be to someone else. Therefore I wouldn’t be surprised if people went into Elko houses and got “Sticker Shock” as well.FredT link wrote:Is "open" discussion of LPIN prices of value to anyone?

The key is research and having posted prices for all to see isn’t needed for research if you’re willing to put in a little effort.
Before I ever went I had only accessed the Mustang/Wildhorse boards. No open price discussion there. I joined the board, participated then once I’d established myself as a legit potential client I pm’d some posters and got a good ballpark idea of cost. All done without public discussion but a little effort

A Lady can ask any price and the client can always walk. If you accept her offer it's on you so don't bitch about it!

My first 2 visits to the Wild Horse/Mustang I had no computer and had no idea of the web site. Never had a problem with price then or now.
If you don't like the way I'm livin then leave this long haired country boy alone.

First of all, I feel compelled to point out....although I’m sure you all realize this...the only reason that thread was started was because this board’s only rule is “no price talk.” For that reason alone it’s a BS thread.
Honestly, I do think “open talk” could be helpful. It just can’t happen on a message board. Every single time it turns nasty. So there is no value to price threads.
Certainly at this stage of the game for me, there is nothing anyone could post that would influence my price habits in anyway. But mostly I just think it’s such BS that that thread was started. It’s so obvious why.
Sigh....
