I had never heard that song until I got here and I love that song. It's a story, The lost art of musical storytelling.
Beer, love, dogs, politics, are so boring.
A bit of history if I might... "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" was actually a spin off of Robert Johnson's "Crossroad" of 1938. Same story of a deal with the devil.
More leg wetting facts: I actually stood at The Crossroad about 6 years ago on my way back from Mardi Gras. Believe it or not, no devil appeared! ;D
I was saddened to read that, too, this morning. I'm not a big country fan by any means, but he certainly left his mark on the music scene. Who could forget "The Devil went down to Georgia"?
"The Devil Went Down to Georgia" was his signature song but watch him tear it up on "Orange Blossom Special." There's almost nothing left of his bow at the end! The world lost a gifted entertainer.
