Looked at the great conjunction through my spotting scope right after sundown. It was kinda... meh.  :-\  The two planets were farther apart than I expected. Later on, when it was fully dark, I could make out some of  Jupiter's moons. That was cool!  8)

Great telescope.
It even has some optional add-ons such as Wi-Fi, battery and "StarSense AutoAlign".

For everyone interested in Astronomy, there are numerous Astronomy clubs throughout the US.  Some of us are lucky to have members from the local university physics department.  They give interesting talks.  Plus, the clubs seem to be very family friendly (wide eyed kids all over the place).

There are also "star parties" where people get together for several nights of viewing.  One that I hear a lot about is the "Texas Star Party".  They apparently draw from a wide geographical area.

It is nice. I have a place to go to in the hill country and the first night I saw the sky I didn't know what to say. I want to put my Canon on it and take pics since it will track objects. The bluetooth the image to my ipad in real time.

I have a solar filter because that is what I really find fascinating. We look at the stars but forget we have one right here and it's an amazing thing when you think about it.
