That's what the voters passed but some judge is now trying to overturn the will of the people. If this judge gets away with it, could other states follow? BTW: Using the judge's logic, many other things should be banned in South Dakota.[/size]

There's a bill in the New Mexico legislature to legalize possession of small, personal use quantities of marijuana. We already have too many drunks on our streets & highways. Now they wanna add stoners to the mayhem... SMH... :

I doubt other states will overturn. Marijuana legalization is well on it's way and it's backed by a lot of money at this point.

The difference is drunk drivers can cause accidents and kill people. People on Marijuana can't find their cars. ;DProspector Bob link wrote: There's a bill in the New Mexico legislature to legalize possession of small, personal use quantities of marijuana. BTW: I don't use Marijuana but if I felt I needed it to relieve pain, I would such as many ex pro football players are doing. Probably a lot safer then all the Opioid drugs prescribed for pain. I would rather use the police to track down real criminals then those who smoke weed. The big thing now is some saying Marijuana has contributed to the homeless problem. Perhaps but probably people with mental problems who don't get treatment along with jobs that don't pay enough to keep a roof over your head is as big a factor as Marijuana.

What exactly is the judge getting away with? It will get appealed.SIDEWINDER link wrote: That's what the voters passed but some judge is now trying to overturn the will of the people. I remember when the tax amendment in Nevada was thrown out by a judge decided that funding schools was more important.
I know in my state, I'd challenge our mess that has medical vs recreational MJ with conflicting regulations between them. Because they were passed as separate amendments, the rules conflict. At some point we need to pass a 3rd amendment to repeal the first 2 and have a single law that provides consistency in the MJ laws.
A store can't be both, so many have separate entrances.

Honestly, marijuana for recreational use should be legal everywhere. It's ridiculous alcohol is legal and weed isn't. Neither of us partake either.
The Mr. is a little more extreme, take an Amsterdam type approach to life. Legalize weed, mushrooms, prostitution. Yes, legalize versus decriminalize. He thinks we would be better served decriminalizing hard drug usage and funding treatment.
