CO2 As Fuel Source

Is carbon dioxide bad?  Not if you can convert it to ethanol.
Argonne Nat. Lab developed a catalyst that can do that conversion cheaply.

As its use injected into oil wells. Gets us beyond the 50% extraction rate that most oil fields are extracted to conventionally.

But energy prices need to be high enough to economically justify the process. Hence a carbon tax.

You missed the word "cheaply".

You added the words "carbon tax" to support the typical liberal agenda.

The fact is there is a cost to produce energy. But here is the article that scientists have done this. Now lets turn the technology over to the engineers and see if it can be scaled economically or not.

I assume that what would be stored would be the end product, the ethanol.  The CO2, once captured, would immediately be converted.

If we run out of CO2, we are going to have some real problems since plant life is dependent on it.

The new here is now we are going to convert all that Iowa cow manure into fuel for electricity.

Careful there.  Anyone who talks about running out of CO2 is going to be hated by the greenies.
The greenies have staked their life on the "fact" that the amount CO2 will be "huge".  Almost as much as the politicians yelling about the "huge" amount of CO2.
