E3

I might be the only gamer here, with the exception of some of the girls, but I got done watching Nintendo’s E3 Direct, and there’s some things I’m excited about, like Metroid Dread, the Zelda Game & Watch, and the Breath Of The Wild sequel, as well as the new WarioWare game.

Rachel, is there anything you’re excited about?

PC gamer here although I have a switch as well. I’m excited about the new Zelda BotW2, Metroid ticks some nostalgia boxes for me but I’m only hesitantly optimistic at this point. However, on the pc side Elden World previews looked amaaazing, been doing a bunch of Cyberpunk and waiting for more releases to come out for Baldur’s Gate 3

Would need to know about your gaming rig. I have an rtx3080 so the game is amazing and I have had hardly any bugs at all, nothing that broke the game for me. The graphics in it just can’t be run on last gen consoles which is where most of the launch Hate came from. Honestly I wouldn’t even try it on anything older than a 1080 family of card.

My real issues with the game is that the ai at launch is laughable and needs another six months or so of development to make it comparable to the open world reactions of gta. For example… cars all just go on set paths and won’t path around you or a wreck etc they sit there honking forever. Another example is the police magically and instantly appear when you do bad things… like teleporting not even out of your line of sight. But they’re so damn stupid you don’t even have to try to hide/escape them. But every interaction can be considered instant five star violence response!?! It isn’t game breaking and its already gotten a bit better, I think that stuff is entirely resolvable and the studio will get to it but that’s the rough edge kind of stuff that shows it was rushed.

The storyline is amazing and even if you want to just do open world/sandbox shenanigans it is very satisfying so long as your computer can handle the rather ridiculous hardware requirements. Also I managed to get my 3080 at retail price, fuck scalpers ruining the availability of ANY video cards atm

Thank you so much.. awesome to know. I'm going to pick it up during the summer steam sale. Good news as I have an rtx 3080 too with an AMD Ryzen 5900x. Instead of building a system, picked up the system from ibuypower... just don't have the patience for building any longer, LOL.

You should have a great graphic experience then, just make sure to get the nvidia game ready drivers for cyberpunk they help a lot and nvidia releases them for free.

I’m not 100% sure it will get a big discount w the steam summer sale since it’s still in its first year but with how rough a launch they had…… might be :P

I just got irritated at everyone that got mad they couldn’t play it on their eight year old potato and tanked it with negativity.

RTX 2080. I'm in the wrong business. Well at least my old 1080 does well in the mining rig. Lol.

1080 would work fine just not at highest settings, the game was written for 2080 as the target.

What’s funny is you might make more money selling your video card at this point rather than mine with it. The second hand market is asinine atm as no one can get their hands on any decent cards thanks to silicone shortage, covid, and Bitcoin farms.

2080 isn't a huge step for mining. Mining doesn't require the video portion of the card. It just uses it for computational duties. Bitcoin itself is pretty much ASIC machines now so you have zero chance of getting anything with a GPU. Better to go with something a little more within reach. You still need a lot of GPU's to make anything. A riser with maybe six at least.

Just play games with your 2080 RTX Rachel. Minecraft RTX is a lot of fun and the caves are really dark and scary unlike the non RTX.
