I read that the reason for this was that they were getting pressure from their lenders and credit card processors. But if they're going to only have nudes, then they're essentially a video version of what Playboy used to be. And the reason Playboy got out of the nudes business is that they were losing money to free/cheap online pornography.

So I don't see any way that this doesn't also turn into a money-loser for OnlyFans as well. They still have massive competition from online porn and their one (previous) advantage of offering highly-specific content will be gone.

Playboy went a year without nudes before realizing that was a bad idea. I predict when OnlyFans make this change, most of their big money makers will leave for other sites or make their own, and OnlyFans will be a sad shadow of its former self, and possibly become bankrupt. That’s what you get for trying to appease big tech.

At one time, I was considering doing a comedy channel on OnlyFans. Probably not worth it.

I've been seeing a number of porn stars and sex workers on twitter recommending FanCentro, since they cater to the adult entertainment industry. So, there are other alternatives to Only Fans.

Onlyfans is only banning pornography videos and pictures that are pornographic. So no movies or photos of sex or dildos and so on. They will probably get more stringent with the rules over time though.

I have a lot of fans. In the triple digits. I only have to remove my videos which doesn't matter because Onlyfans is a terrible market for videos. There really is no way to sort them or advertise them. It's a huge headache to be truthful and I might not even make videos anymore. It's a lot of work and I am already working on other businesses which need my time.

I will adjust my pictures to be inside the rules and move my fans to a better platform that is easier for me, and them because Onlyfans is a nightmare for content creators. It's just Twitter with a paywall. It depends on a constant stream of new posts like Facebook and Twitter. The attention span is shorter and shorter and I just don't care about anyone else's jerk off addiction.

And just like that, they reversed their decision. They’re “suspending” the ban on explicit content. The damage has been done, though. Most sex workers have found other platforms.

I love Bhecka Sin’s take on it, comparing OnlyFans to an abusive boyfriend, one minute saying “Bitch! Get out,” following up with “I didn’t mean it, baby! Please come back!” But if you’ve followed the trail of “accidental” prolife deletions, then the bombshell announcement, followed by “Sorry! We fucked up!” then don’t be surprised if OnlyFans reverses the reversal.

Looks like I’ll find another way to do my comedy. I do have a YouTube channel that’s been dormant.

I get it if they were getting pressure from their credit card processors that was driving the original decision, but you'd think you'd ask the question, so how much of our revenue is generated from this type of activity before putting such a ban in place.

And like you say, once the damage is done, its very hard to reverse. People will look for alternate sites that are accepting of their content.

We don’t understand how credit card processing companies were placing pressure. All porn sites and adult industries, including brothels, use credit cards. Very weird. Happy the ladies and other content creators get to keep their content and subscribers.

Credit Card processors do it all the time. ITs why you don't see Amex accepted at any of the brothels.

Anyways it's good that they changed their mind and it gives us time to build our following elsewhere.
