To me an exam is what a doctor would do.  Prostrate stimulation is what a sex partner would do.  I've tried it (both actually) and it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Looking at it from a medical angle, I had a doc recommend a prostate message done by one's partner to reduce enlarged prostates.

No side effects like from drugs.
