Love Ranch South Loses its License

#1

Post by niceguy eddie »

The links below are to articles that claim that Nye County lawmakers have permanently revoked Assembly candidate Dennis Hof’s license at the Love Ranch South after he failed to apply for renewal and pay fees on time.  Just to clarify, the Love Ranch South is the one closest to Vegas, not to be confused with the Love Ranch North in Moundhouse just outside of Carson City.

Elsewhere Madam Sonja asserts that they did indeed reapply for their license and paid their fees on time and the check they submitted was cashed before the deadline.

I smell shenanigans on the part of the part of the county.

Like him or hate him, it seems that Dennis has stepped into an arena where they play hardball at a whole different level.

Sonja said that they paid the fees & check cashed  but admitted that the paper had not been filed on time. She called it a “Loophole” and “in the fine print” well that’s what Dennis’ lawyers are for to make sure to cover all loopholes and read the fine print. If they require the paperwork and haven’t received it then they have every right to revoke the Lic. Not saying there’s not some shenanigans going on but bottom line is if it’s the law then Dennis’ Lawyers should have known about it and made damn sure he was doing everything by the book.
As you said Dennis is now playing at a whole other level and it’s up to him to know the rules

I hope the ladies get back to work soon. Cashing the check is damning part on county. It indicates a level of acceptance

Agree and if Dennis can show that’s how it’s been since he owned the place then he has a Leg to stand on as precedence has been set. I fully expect that he will get it reopened but through his own negligence the Ladies are once again paying the price and since he sold Alien he can’t just shuffle them over there.

I won’t be surprised if they are back open by Friday and I hope for the Ladies sakes they are but Dennis needs to get his shit together

He is an outsider to the political establishment, who ran a flamboyant and nasty political campaign.  Some members of his own party do not like him.  Add to that fact that he runs a business that some consider unsavory, that is heavily regulated, and vulnerable to whims of county officials.  Regardless of how you previously did business, expect them to scrutinize the lawbooks and rulebooks to find something to hit you with.  Given all of those factors together, one almost has to expect asymmetric attacks.  I also would not be surprised if the Republicans find some obscure ruling to try to push him off the ballot.

Didn't law enforcement send a sexual assault case to the DA but the statute of limitations were up. I'm amazed at how people don't see the implications. If that is true then it means the Sheriff thought he had enough evidence to prosecute. From what I understand it was multiple ladies and incidents reported.

This has been going on for years. People say if it's true then why don't the girls say something. Because it's an uphill battle with his lawyers and for years LE has turned a blind eye to Dennis. Not anymore because #metoo is coming for him and other deviants in this industry.

Any update on this? I would have expected Dennis to get some type of injunction by now to stay open until he got this in court yet I haven’t seen anything, have I missed it?

According to the Sheriff's office in Nye county. They were told by the executive manager (I think Zachary somebody) told them they would not surrender the work cards and the Sheriff had to get a warrant to go in and get them.

Okay, that was really bright to make the Sheriff get a warrant.

Damn I was gonna go there tonight.☹ OK maybe not, but if I had tried to go to any ranch this trip it probably would have been there because if nothing else the way they handle the transportation better than Sheris and CR.

So did the LPINs turf over to the Alien? On the other hand, I think he doesn't own that one any more, right?

Correct he no longer owns Alien. He could have worked some deal possibly but from what Sonja said elsewhere it didn’t sound like it

Before my comment I want it completely understood I feel bad for all the Ladies who are unable to work at this time due to this house closure

Let’s review the facts as I understand them
The county requires that the fee and the License renewal paperwork be submitted one month prior to the current lic expiring.
According to the commission they had not received the paperwork on time. Accirding to Sonja they had received the check and cashed it and the paperwork is a “loophole” and the requirement is “in the fine print”. She further has stated that the paperwork was never required before when the lic was renewed.
Several of the county commisioners incl the sheriff have lawsuits filed against them by Dennis. These are the votes that decided to close the house with the sheriff abstaining because of the lawsuit against her.
The sheriff was instructed by council to seize the Brothel and Liquor lic immediately per the counties laws. Also per the laws granting those lic the sheriff has the right to enter the premises anytime without a warrant yet LRV refused to let them in without a warrant. Now it is unclear to me how this refusal was conveyed, in person or over the phone. The sheriff obtained the warrant and then seized lic and Work cards without incident.

Is it shady that the commisioners who are being sued are the ones who voted to pull the lic? Hell yes

Was it legal for them to do so based on the county laws? Yes provided that Dennis did indeed fail to submit his paperwork on time.

So whose fault is it that the house is currently closed? Cutting through the bullshit that many in the Hof empire like to misdirect with the bottom line falls on Dennis. It doesn’t matter if in the past they didn’t follow through and require the paperwork be on time and cashed the check. That was in the past and this is now. Yes it set precedent that may be argued in court but that’s for the courts. When it’s obvious they are doing everything they can to shut Dennis down it’s his responsibility to make sure he doesn’t give them a reason. Dennis gave them a reason and it doesn’t matter if it’s a “loophole” or “in the fine print” or that it’s just not fair! It was Dennis’ responsibility to cover all his bases.

So again who is responsible for the closure of LRV? Dennis Hof no two ways around it, he could have prevented it by filing his paperwork on time

In that video it was stated that they were contacted by a manager.

The responsibility falls completely on Hof's shoulders because he didn't follow the law and submit his paperwork on time.

If I were the girls down there I would be looking somewhere else because they have gotten burned now because of paperwork not being filed. I wouldn't want to be burned over something that is the owner's responsibility. If Hof feels so bad why doesn't he give them something to hold them over until the place gets opened back up. He has millions doesn't he?

Dennis is a miser. I went to lunch with some girls with him twice and he bought one desert and we passed around took a bite of it. Lame.

Sonja admits they didn't cross all the t's and dot all the I's yet plays the poor victim. "But they cashed the check", "they never required that paper before". No one calls her out except Sidewinder.

Every article out there says the same thing, didn't pay fees on time and submit required paperwork.

What I continue to try and wrap my head around is that the Lic is a “Privledge” license which means when you take it, it is at the discretion of the County to let you keep it. So to me and my lack of knowledge that says to me that the lic could be revoked at anytime without much of a cause.

So I go back to the simple fact that Dennis by his own admission gave them cause by not getting paperwork in on time.

Dennis, your house is closed because you screwed up, plain and simple. I feel bad for all the people who are out of work but I wish they would honestly look at who caused the problem instead of making excuses for him

Decision postponed until Monday but based on the judges initial comments it’s looking good for Dennis
