Miss South Africa just won the 2017 Miss Universe contest.
In years past, the South African contestant often placed high in the competition.
It was at Plant Hollywood, in Vegas.

There was even a Miss Iraq.  That takes guts, given how some men view women in those parts of the world.

It is probably those groups that made the death threats.

Islam before the creation of Saudi Arabia was was fairly liberal. Wahabism is a Sunni off shoot that is fudamentilist Islam. The reason it came about is because Muslims are not supposed to kill Muslims.  That was a problem so enter Wahabism.  Now they could fight the Ottoman Empire and take Mecca.  Which they did. Saudi Arabia was formed later.


It is extremely fundamentalist.

Miss South Africa wasn't a bad choice, but out of the finalists I liked Miss Columbia more. I thought she did better answering questions and overall I thought she had more personality and was far more attractive imho.
