I needed something small so I got a S&W. 380. I really wanted to try my hand with a Mossberg pump but they were ALL gone. I might try another store tomorrow.
I want to fire a Desert Eagle but i don't think I can control the recoil. If someone wants to go to the range and keep it from kicking back into my face then let's do it.

Help! I have tried a number of guns and I can't pull the trigger or rack the shell on any of them.
(My hands are bad.)

In most guns (not all ) the trigger pull can be adjusted by a gunsmith. All of mine have been worked on. There is good and bad too that.

The S&W 380 BG is double action only. That's why it has a heavy trigger pull. Pulling the trigger is cocking the hammer first just like on a double action revolver. It doesn't fire until it gets to the end of its long trigger stroke.

I was watching this video and doesn't it have that striker system. I guess technically not a hammer? Either way I understand what you mean.

One thing I forgot to say--make sure to lube the gun. Just a a little on each slide rail and work the slide back and forth. Don't put any on the breachface--the part of the slide were the firing pin comes out.
Is this the pistol that you bought:
https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/mp-bodyguard-380
If it is, it is safe to carry without the safety on. It has an internal safety and a long trigger. I would not keep the manual safety on because it is small and hard to disengage quickly. If you don't practice a lot you might forget to disengage it under stress.
