Why not leave a disaster area till things are restored?
Cancun, Florida, Arizona all look like a smart temporary move, if one is able.

Most folks here stand together to help each other out.  I gave away meat and gas.

If you can help out your neighbors, great.  Not everyone can.  Some can't help others, but if they can leave to avoid being a burden on others, best to do so.

(In the local mid-west disaster back in August, I loaned my generator to my neighbor, and drove him to gas stations I knew were open.  I wasn't a burden on anyone so I stayed put.  Ten days later electricity came back on.)

Many times, helping out doesn't even involve money. Something as simple as what the locals did telling the feller  who was traveling where the power was on and where he could get gas/food.  Others just checking in on neighbors to make sure they're alright.  [/size]
