Elon and Ukrainian EM Attacks by Russia

SpaceX Repels Russian EM Attack
When the Russians
destroyed much of their
terrestrial communications
infrastructure, a Ukrainian
official sent Elon a tweet
asking for help keeping the
besieged country online.
SpaceX responded by sending
Ukraine a lot of terminals,
complete with battery back-ups
and other useful things one
might need when being
constantly bombed. SpaceX
founder Elon Musk then
steered thousands of Starlink
terminals over Ukraine.
Russia, known for their high
power microwave capabilities,
immediately started jamming
the Starlink signals. SpaceX
changed some code,
reconfigured all of the
terminals and the next day
Russia's jamming effectiveness
went down the same path as
their warship.
Even the Pentagon is taking
notes on how SpaceX shut
down a Russian
electromagnetic warfare attack
in Ukraine so quickly and
effectively. Brig. Gen. Tad
Clark, director of the Air
Force’s electromagnetic
spectrum superiority
directorate, said modern wars
will increasingly involve EM
warfare, particularly to shape
the battlefield when conflicts
begin. The U.S. needs to get
much better at its own EM
warfare rapid response.
