I know, I am so sad. I always loved Burt Reynolds. In fact, just a month or so ago I downloaded Smokey and the Bandit to watch from Amazon Prime.
Last night after the game I found his last movie from 2017 and watched it. My own little memorial :'(

I just watched “The Last Movie Star” which seemed really autobiographical of the end of his life. It was really good, had some of his old stuff like Smokey and the Bandit and Deliverance incorporated. Actually made me tear up :'(

I saw it too! Maybe two days after he passed, I remembered seeing it somewhere On Demand and watched it.
How sad! I was a young man watching his movies in the 70s and 80s, he was like the ultimate sex symbol, but also the good ole boy, the guy who never took himself too seriously and was quick to crack a joke and laugh. I admire him for showing himself as he was as an elderly man, no longer the virile, leading man - now he would smile at the cute young babe in the grocery store and she would not even look in his direction - this the guy who at one time could have any woman he wanted - and did so. Now he was hobbling about on a cane.
I give him tons of credit to expose himself like that as he actually was. Since I watched that film, I have been DVRing all the movies that are playing on cable and watching them one by one. I think his best performance was in Boogie Nights - he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as porn producer Jack Horner. The best movie he appeared in, I think was Deliverance, a definite 10/10. His most memorable character - Bandit in Smokey and the Bandit.
But I think that any Burt Reynolds fan needs to see The Last Movie Star.

Strange thing - I don't think he even had a funeral! I did hear that a few days after he passed, his neice had his body cremated, but as far as a funeral there were no plans. He wasn't married, but he did have an adopted son. His neice was his next of kin.

I thought the whole ensemble cast of Boogie Nights was great. I read somewhere that Burt Reynolds didn’t like the movie and regretted doing it...he said it was too much like porn.
But Indomagree, overall he never seemed to take himself seriously, and yes, it was very cool,of this guy to show himself as an old man. He really was a sexy symbol, back in his day. I also always admired the way he so freely admitted what an asshole he was with Sally Fields.
